Improving Online Pin Trading |

OK, yes, I know. Pinpics, right? Wrong! We have been doing some thinking and were wondering:
If you could have your own system designed with YOUR input for online pin trading and design it from scratch, what are things you would want
to be able to do, to see? Assume for a minute that there could be an alternative to PP and share your thoughts.

I'd love to be able to rank what pins I want, kind of like on the amazon wishlist (high, med, or low priority)
Be able to leave myself notes on my pin collection and wants list (as in who in my family wants it) I'd like to know a general "where" the person I'm sending the TA to is. And who has what pin (in case you know a certain person you don't want to trade with) A link to references right in profile? But, I've only traded twice, so who knows if I know anything |

Oh, and what about a place you could list types of pins you are interested in, in case someone would like to offer a trade for something you might want, but
haven't put on your wants list? (ie my dd is into Japan... I only recently found a japanese folding fan pin she would love, but there is no
"japanese" catagory. She likes the lettering, traditional clothing, etc.)

You go girl!! Keep coming up with those ideas! Maybe create a place where you can put other things you collect like snowglobes, mickey ears, pressed coins! I
love the pressed coins and have tried to get as many as possible when i'm at the parks.

I agree. That would be fantastic. I hate just trading by specific pin match ups. That is sooooooooo outdated, dahhhhling.
I also agree with Heather. We have a ton of the coins as well and go everywhere from machine to machine when we are there to get any we haven't gotten. And yes, I had to have all of the Villains..lol. |

Ooh - imagine pressed penny trading lol!! I have a whole heap of these too - Aaron spend hours cleaning up pennies for us to take with us just so I could get
lots of them!!

Disney has a list of pressed coins that you can print up for both DLR and WDW. Now all we need is pics!

I read somewhere for photographing pins to use a tabletop tripod, that might help with penny pics.
I'm so glad you all liked my ideas! I love pins...tho I am afriad I need an ebay intervention... |

Intervention!!!!
I am sorry, but that is all I can muster. It would just be the pot calling the kettle black, if you know what I mean! LOL! Yes, I LOVE all of these ideas, and believe me people are listening- keep them coming! Mel- if you use a digital cam, definitely place the coin on a dark color of felt and keep the camera stationary. |

Well............here's an update!
My retired USAF hubby, former NASA goon is a computer genius for those of you that don't know my right arm...lol. I don't think it is right for a few people to be in charge of the only Disney pin database (a very archaic and limited one at that) on the Internet. These people have sole decisions over who and how pin trades occur on that site. They have also banned HUNDREDS of people simply because they can. Many of those that have been banned in the past- myself included- know one another. Not exactly the smartest thing to do, is it? Things happen in life sometimes that people have no control over. Heck, one of the ladies I know that was banned is nearly 70 and they banned her for not completing a few trades- her HOUSE HAD BURNED DOWN. Anywho, I want you all to know that when someone closes a door, a window opens somewhere........ Keep these brilliant ideas coming. For the love of Disney pin trading- for Disney pin traders, not just a select few that think they are the be all end all. |

I love being able to rate what you want in priority and being able to categorize pins into different categories of your choosing. I love the idea of listing
the coins for trade as well. We have a few but something tells me that if they fit our collection we would be game for them. My Nephews liked the coins as
well. I would want to be able to cut the people out of the TA's when they are sent out that I do not want to trade with. I would want to be able to leave
some sort of notice for bad traders and not only good trades references. If someone has a problem with a particular trader odds are there are others that have
too. Maybe not list what is bad just give them a red check or something if something went horribly wrong. That way at a glance you would see if someone had a
bunch of bad trades in their background. It might be warranted to have the checks only done by whoever runs the sight or something so someone holding a vendeta
for someone can not ruin them. Maybe all you would need is a feedback forum like Ebay has where you just leave checks on the trade and a simple comment if
needed. A reference board could say 199 out of 200 positive trades. Member since 2008 or whatever.

I'll have a good think at lunchtime - I agree with Darlene on the "feedback" thing for traders - it works well on eBay. Even if I see negative
feedback on a seller I'll still buy from them once I see why there was negative comment left, as things do happen. Heck one girl who bought an item from me
left me "neutral" feedback as I had sent her a (nice) reminder to leave me feedback - she got really nasty on an email and left "no
comment" on my feedback page!!
I still like the penny database idea....I had so much fun collecting them....and then I found pins....oops...!! |

On a couple message boards I am on, they have something called iTrader. It show a percentage of postive trades.
