On May 1, I flew from Phoenix to Orlando on Delta Airlines by way of Atlanta. My flight arrived after midnight, so had no problems with any crowds or lines to wait in. I went down to baggage claim, and went right to Disney's Magical Express. Didn't even claim my bag, just trusted that Mickey would take care of it. I checked in at Magical Express (ME) and was directed to the bus. I settled into my seat for an uninterrupted comfortable ride to Coronado Springs Resort. I checked in and was shown to my room by a very nice CM bellman. I had PJs and change of clothes for Friday in my carry-on, and it was well after 1am, so went to bed. Bed was very comfy, room was neat and clean. I knew that my bag would not get to me til Friday morning, I planned to sleep in just a bit.
7:15am phone rings....Good morning, the bellman is outside your door with your suitcase....(Me) I'm sleeping.....(I had put the 'don't disturb' sign out when I went to bed...sigh)...caller-Call us when you want it brought back...(me) OK Thanks...
Somewhat later, I got up, showered and dressed, and called them to deliver the suitcase. Then I left and went to Rix Cafe which is a small counter quick service spot with great coffee and pastries. I bought one of the refillable mugs and they washed it and filled it with their terrific coffee. I also purchased a couple of their sweet rolls, and went back to the room. My luggage was there by now, so I put my stuff away and got ready for the pin trading Friday afternoon by checking out my hotel.
The Coronado Springs Resort is a beautiful place! The grounds are gorgeous and very peaceful. The rooms are nice, and are slated to be refurbished starting Oct 1st this year. There is a 4 cup coffee maker and small refrigerator in every room. The rooms are quiet and very comfortable. I had a room in the Cabanas section 8b. First floor corner with 2 windows. It was very close to bus stop 4, and a short walk to both the main pool and a quiet pool.
I went over to Downtown Disney for lunch and a visit to Pin Traders. I ate at Earl of Sandwich. Yummy! Did some shopping, then it was time to go back to the hotel for registration for Expedition Pins!
More in a bit......
