Look what arrived at Disney Pin Headquarters today! It is a four pin box set celebrating the 40th Anniversary of The Haunted Mansion® Attraction at Disneyland® Resort. The artwork featured on the pins was created by SHAG. You may recall that SHAG created some artwork for pins that celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Disneyland® Resort a few years ago. To learn more about SHAG and some of the artwork he has created for the 40th Anniversary, visit our sister site - The Art of Disney Parks.

Don't exactly love those. I do like the bottom left one, though.

Not a huge fan of the Shag artwork. I wonder if the frames glow in the dark. They are very bright.

We also updated the limited edition pin for Disney's California Food and Wine Festival 2009. Finally got our hands on a real sample of the pin. Looks great! Speaking of samples, we received additional samples for pins being released in Fall 2009. We have candy on our minds today, so we thought some previews of Halloween pins would be mighty nice.
New Halloween pins featuring characters from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. These pins will be shared on the West and East coasts.
These pins are from a 13 pin set featuring characters Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. The set will have an edition size of 500 when released this Fall.

Hi , I work at Magic Kingdom in the Emporium and I have noticed that we have about half the pins that we use to ..... I was wondering if there was a reason for
not having as many pins or what ....
I've asked a few of my managers but they don't know anything about the pins ...... any ideas ?? |

Hi Cindy! Welcome to Walt's Basement.
My understanding is that most pins (LE's especially) are being released at "pin specific" stores for control and information purposes. By control purposes, I mean keeping track of releases and inventory. By information purposes, I mean that pin people expect the CM's to know their pin information. The fact that your managers don't know anything about the pins is the perfect example. If most pins are in centralized locations the information is more easily accessed by the cast members. The other reason, and this is just my belief...nothing I've heard, is that it is also easier to get people started in collecting a trading in the specialty stores. If a tourist goes to the Emporium and buy a pin in there then it stays a souvenir. If they buy that same pin in a store with lanyards, zillions of pins, guests talking about trading and collecting, etc...they may become addicted too! |

We also have lanyards and 2 kinds of a pin bags one a big bag and one a small bag ... and we have the starter packs lanyards and also the starter box sets ....
It just seems weird that there isn't many pins coming in to be sold ...... half the time I'm re arranging to fill in the holes that are left behind
because we don't have that many .. and its not like there in storage either cuz I've looked and there isn't that many there either.... could it be
because of inventory ???? we are close to having inventory so yeah I wounder heh
