Master Basementeer Posts: 156 Wed, Apr 23, 2008 01:37 PM	Tags : None Okay, we established in chat that I am a major slacker since I don't have anything in my pinpics account. I finally started to add my pins! For the past three days I have gotten a trade request from the same person. Each time I have nicely replied that I wasn't interested in trading. He wants my DLR POTC Surprise Wait Sign in trade for one of his Princess Hidden Mickey pins. While I have the hidden mickey pins in my wants, we will probably be able to find them on our next trip and I'm not willing to trade this particular pin for a hm. Since I'm not experienced with the trade requests, is this normal? Should I turn off the trade assistant? In a nutshell, am I doing something wrong and how does this all work?

(Thus I rarely send TA's ;) ) Every day for 3 days is pushy. Tell them to quit sharking you LOL This would be why on the other thread about improvements that could be made, I suggested being able to block certain user. So, my hm ISOs are ones that I really expect to find on my next trip. I put them out there as a reminder to myself, but is that not a good idea? Should I just remove them?

It just works that way. I have to confess as well, that I would only send one response for a NO. After that, I would just assume he is checking all his squares and it is an automatic deal. Do not get offended or take it personally if the email is the automated PP email. I would only be upset if he went out of his way to email you directly and harass you about a pin trade. As far as the HM pins, I would definitely remove them from your wants list unless you want to be bombarded. Only put serious wants that you want NOW on your wants list, or else you will have to analyze a bunch of requests that you may not be interested in. ...and now you shall deal with me.....the Mztressofallevil! Today I get (from pinpics) a request for a trade. Never done this before so dont know how good/bad this is and would welcome all advice and suggestions anyway :o) Big issue is this - The person who emailed me wanted one of our LE pins (and a darn nice one too) for a regular Stitch pin. As much as love Stitch, it's not a "WOW!!" pin or on my wants list - so I politely declined the offer. I thought it was a sort of "like for like" thing unless you were happy to do other wise? Like 2 normal for an LE or if it's a hard to get regular pin (like a japanese one) or something?

You just check boxes and it goes out. You do not know who is going to get it because you do not do that much research into it you just click boxes. I get trade requests for great pins for not so great ones every day. I just do not accept those. There are many that say that you should respond to every request. I am not one of those. Every once in a while I will accept a trade request from someone. Out of every ten I accept I will actually trade only about 2 or 3 as it is still the person's choice and since I only accept trades that are fair others probably accept the same ones. Karie you got the same request 3 days because noone will trade that person that pin. I get trade requests for that pin EVERY DAY. It is very popular. Keep it until you are offered something you REALLY want!
