The Parkinson Disney Adventure - Part 4
by Kris Parkinson
During our stay at Disneyland, we came to despise the long lines. I think my husband and our youngest son waited an hour to go on California Screamin’ at California Adventure. I actually should not have gone on that ride because, well, I’ll just say that my rollercoaster days are over. I used to love them as a child, but now, not so much. If you like furiously-fast rides, please stand in line and get in the little car and go careening up and around and down and scream like your life depends on it. Go ahead. You can do it for me because I will not do it again. My husband and son loved it and wanted to do it again, but I just couldn’t deal with that. I was lucky my glasses stayed on!
So yes, we stood in horribly long lines. Each day we were there, we stood in these long lines (unless, of course, we had a rare Fast Pass), and one of my family members came up with the term ‘Disneyline’ because of it.
Celebrity spotting – we saw Caroline Rhea from “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.” It was hard not to want to follow her around. She had a stroller and got a private meeting with the Phineas & Ferb characters. It was neat to see her.
One of the family’s favorite rides was Soarin’ Over California. If you haven’t been on it, I won’t spoil much, but it’s like you’re hang-gliding over California – complete with the scent of oranges when you’re flying over the orange groves. So cool!
More to come in a future installment.
